Cookie Policy
Last updated:
This page explains how monacoluxurycarrental.com uses cookies, local storage and similar technologies when you browse our fleet of over 70 vehicles, send an enquiry, or get in touch by WhatsApp, phone or email.
It applies to anyone who opens the site, whatever page you land on and whatever device you use.
Storage on this site
- Cookie notice preference (local storage)
- Remembers that you closed the cookie notice. No expiry set; stays until you clear your browser storage.
- Selected car (session storage)
- Remembers which car you clicked so the enquiry form can be prefilled. Deleted when you close the tab or send the form.
- Visit identifiers (local storage)
- Random visitor and session identifiers used for our own first-party visit counting. Expire 30 days after your last visit; you can clear them at any time.
- Google Fonts
- Loads the typefaces used on the site. Google receives your IP address when the font files are requested. Sets no cookie for us.
- jsDelivr (intl-tel-input library)
- Loads the phone-number formatting script used in the enquiry form. jsDelivr receives your IP address when the file is requested. Sets no cookie for us.
1. Cookies and storage, in plain terms
A cookie is a small piece of data a website asks your browser to keep, usually so the site can recognise you on a later visit. Local storage and session storage work the same way but live directly in your browser rather than being sent back and forth with every page request; local storage stays until it is cleared, session storage disappears when you close the tab.
We use the term loosely in this policy to cover all of these, because the practical effect for you is the same: something small is kept in your browser.
2. No cookies, no trackers
monacoluxurycarrental.com does not set any cookies of its own. We have not installed Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, advertising networks or any other third-party analytics or advertising tracker. Nothing on this site builds an advertising profile of you or follows you to other websites.
3. How we measure visits
We run a small first-party script, served from our own domain, to understand which pages are useful and which enquiries come from which channel. It records the pages you view, the time spent on each page, the site that referred you, any campaign parameters in the link (such as UTM tags or an ad click id), your device type, browser, operating system, screen size, browser language, and the country derived from your IP address. The IP address itself is not stored.
When you send an enquiry or tap a WhatsApp or phone link, that action is linked to the same visit so we know which channel led to the booking. This measurement relies on two random identifiers kept in local storage, described below, which expire 30 days after your last visit.
4. What is stored in your browser
The storage table above lists every entry our site places in your browser: a note that you closed the cookie banner, a short-lived note of the car you clicked on so the enquiry form can be prefilled, and the two visit-measurement identifiers that expire after 30 days. None of them contains your name, email, phone number or any other contact detail you give us through the enquiry form.
5. Fonts, scripts and the links we show
Two third-party requests happen automatically when the page loads: your browser fetches our typefaces from Google Fonts, and it fetches the phone-number formatting script from the jsDelivr content delivery network. In both cases, the provider sees the request and your IP address, simply because that is how a web request works; neither sets a cookie for us.
The WhatsApp buttons on the site behave differently: nothing is sent to WhatsApp, and nothing opens, until you actually tap the button. At that point we record the page you were on, the referring site, your browser language and the prefilled message text in our own booking system, and your browser then opens WhatsApp. From that moment, the conversation runs on WhatsApp, under Meta's own privacy policy, outside our control.
The Tripadvisor and Trustpilot links in our footer are plain links. Nothing from those platforms loads on your screen unless you click through to them.
6. Controlling storage, and future changes
You can see, block or delete cookies and local storage at any time through your browser settings; the exact menu depends on the browser, but it is usually found under privacy or site settings. Clearing storage will remove the cookie-notice preference and the visit identifiers, and the notice may appear again on your next visit.
If we ever decide to add an optional cookie, for example to offer a new feature, we will update this page first and ask for your consent before it is set, in line with the recommendations of the Monaco data protection authority. For any question about this policy, write to [email protected]. The supervisory authority for data protection in Monaco is the Autorité de Protection des Données Personnelles (APDP).
