Privacy Policy
Last updated:
This page explains how Monaco Luxury Car Rental handles personal information gathered through monacoluxurycarrental.com and through the enquiries, calls and messages that lead to a rental booking. It applies to anyone who visits the site, sends us an enquiry, or books a car, chauffeur-driven hire or airport delivery with us.
Our curated fleet, built for Monaco's corniche roads and the routes toward Èze and Cap-Ferrat, is presented on this site so you can request a quote with confidence. The sections below set out, in plain terms, what information this involves and what you can do about it.

1. The controller of your data
Monaco Luxury Car Rental decides how and why personal data submitted through this website is used, which makes us the controller under Monaco's Law No. 1.565 of 3 December 2024 on personal data protection. If you are visiting from the European Union, the General Data Protection Regulation also applies to the way we treat your information. You can write to us at [email protected] with any request linked to this policy or to a booking.
2. What we collect and where it comes from
We gather information you give us directly, plus a small amount of technical data generated as you browse.
- Enquiry form: your name, email, an optional phone number, the car you are interested in, pick-up and drop-off dates, a flight number if you use the airport-delivery form, and anything you write in the message field. The form also records the page it was sent from and the site that referred you, so we know which channel to credit.
- Direct contact: whatever you tell us by phone, by email, or when you write to us.
- WhatsApp button: tapping it logs the page, the referring site, the page language and the prefilled message in our booking system before the WhatsApp app opens.
- Server logs: our hosting provider keeps standard logs of the requesting IP address, the time of the request, the page requested and the browser used, kept briefly for security.
3. Why we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and put together a quote — a step taken before any contract exists.
- To confirm, prepare and carry out the rental, chauffeur service or airport delivery you book with us — performance of that contract.
- To keep server logs and spot misuse of the site — our legitimate interest in keeping the service and the fleet secure.
- To keep booking and accounting records — a legal obligation under the rules that apply to a trading business in Monaco.
We never sell personal data, we do not use it to make automated decisions about you, and we do not send marketing messages unless you ask us to.
4. Driving licence and identity documents at handover
Once a booking is confirmed, you will be asked to show your driving licence and a passport or national identity card when the car is handed over. This lets us check that you are entitled to drive the car you reserved, prepare the written rental agreement, and satisfy the insurance and legal requirements that apply to car rental in Monaco. These documents are checked and recorded at handover; the website itself does not collect licence or ID numbers.
5. Who sees your information
- Our own team, who handle enquiries and bookings through an internal messaging tool so we can answer quickly.
- The captain or driver assigned to your booking, so they know where and when to meet you, which car to bring, and any instructions you have given.
- Our hosting provider, which stores the website and the server logs.
- Google, because web fonts are loaded from Google Fonts and Google receives your IP address when a page loads; and jsDelivr, which delivers the intl-tel-input library used for the phone field in our forms. Neither sets cookies on our behalf.
- WhatsApp, operated by Meta, if you choose to start a conversation through the WhatsApp button — that exchange is covered by WhatsApp's own privacy policy, not this one.
Links in the footer to our Tripadvisor and Trustpilot profiles are plain links; nothing from those platforms loads unless you click on them.
6. Transfers outside Monaco
Requests sent to Google Fonts and to jsDelivr, and any conversation you start on WhatsApp, may be handled on servers located outside Monaco, including outside the European Economic Area. These providers process data under their own privacy policies and the safeguards they put in place for international transfers; we do not control or add to those transfers beyond using their services as described above.
7. Measuring visits and browser storage
We count visits with a script served from our own domain. No third-party analytics, advertising or social-media trackers run on the site, and the site itself does not set cookies. This measurement records pages viewed, time on page, the referring site, campaign parameters found in the link, device type, browser, operating system, screen size, browser language and a country derived from the IP address; the IP address itself is not stored. When you send an enquiry or tap a WhatsApp or phone link, that action is linked to the same visit so we can see which channel led to it.
Three small items are stored in your browser: one remembers that you closed the cookie notice, one remembers which car you clicked so the enquiry form can be prefilled (deleted when you close the tab or send the form), and one holds randomly generated visitor and session identifiers for the visit measurement described above, which expires 30 days after your last visit and can be cleared at any time through your browser settings. None of them contains your name, email or phone number.
8. How long we keep data
Enquiries that do not turn into a booking are deleted after 36 months. Confirmed booking records, including the information needed for accounting, are kept for as long as tax and accounting rules require us to retain them. Server logs are kept for a short period for security purposes, and the visit-measurement identifier expires after 30 days of inactivity.
9. Keeping your data secure
We limit access to enquiry and booking records to the people who need them to prepare your quote or run your rental, and we rely on our hosting provider's standard safeguards to protect the site and its logs. No system is completely risk-free, but we review how data flows through the site and keep access as narrow as the service allows.
10. Your rights and how to use them
You can ask us to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal data, object to processing based on our legitimate interest, or request a portable copy of the data you gave us. Send your request to [email protected]; we may ask you to confirm your identity before acting on it, and we aim to respond within one month.
If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can lodge a complaint with the Autorité de Protection des Données Personnelles (APDP) in Monaco.
This site and our rental service are addressed to adults who are able to enter into a car rental agreement; we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
We may update this policy as our service or the applicable rules change. The version published on this page is the one that applies, and we will update the content here whenever a change is made.
